Parades, Fireworks & Ranch Life: It's Time to Make Plans for the Fourth of July
There’s something special about the Fourth of July in small town Texas.
Maybe it’s the sound of church bells ringing across town squares. Maybe it’s children waving flags from the back of pickups during a hometown parade. Or maybe it’s simply the reminder that some of the best parts of life still happen slowly — gathered with family, friends, neighbors, and community.
As America celebrates its 250th anniversary of independence this year, communities across the Texas Hill Country and beyond are preparing for a weekend full of tradition, patriotism, horse races, live music, fireworks, hometown dances, and family gatherings that remind us why so many people are drawn to rural Texas living in the first place.
From Fredericksburg’s iconic Main Street Parade and patriotic program at Marktplatz to Comfort’s riverside festivities, Johnson City’s Fourth Fest, Boerne’s Flag Run, Real County celebrations, and historic gatherings in Goliad, these events reflect the values that continue to define small town Texas: faith, family, land stewardship, tradition, and community.
In Fredericksburg, families will gather early along Main Street as the parade begins with a National Anthem and flyover before continuing through downtown under waving American flags and historic storefronts. Later in the day, church bells throughout the community will ring together at noon in honor of our nation’s founding — a tradition that feels especially meaningful during this historic anniversary year.
Throughout the Hill Country and across rural Texas, local events continue all weekend long with parades, horse races, patriotic programs, community dances, fireworks, and family gatherings that celebrate both our nation's independence and the traditions that make small-town Texas special.

These aren’t just events on a calendar.
They are reminders of the lifestyle that draws so many people to ranches, small towns, and rural communities across Texas — the ability to slow down, gather together, and create traditions that last generations.
At Stearns Ranch Realty Group, we’re grateful to serve families across the Hill Country and beyond who value that way of life. Whether you own a legacy ranch, are searching for a weekend retreat, relocating to a small town community, or simply looking for trusted guidance in the Texas land market, we’re here to serve as a resource long before and long after a transaction.
We believe ranch real estate is about more than acreage.
It’s about helping people find places where memories are made — around porches, parade routes, church pews, stock tanks, dance halls, and family tables.
As you celebrate this Fourth of July weekend, we hope you take time to gather with the people you love and enjoy the traditions that make Texas small towns so special.
Whether you're spending the weekend on the ranch, gathering around a family barbecue, watching a small-town parade, or enjoying fireworks under the Texas sky, we hope you take time to celebrate the people and places that make this country—and Texas ranch life—so special.
At Stearns Ranch Realty Group, we're proud to call these communities home. If you ever need guidance on buying, selling, managing, or enjoying Texas land, we're here to be a resource for all things ranch life—not just real estate.
